Compositor for Windows & macOS release 0.10.2 is now available!
This small patch release fixes excessive memory growth on macOS. If you use Compositor on a Mac, I recommend updating.
What’s New?
During routine profiling of the macOS app with Instruments, I noticed with horror that some memory increases were attributed to the Tracy profiler. Tracy was only ever meant to be used on Windows, and only for local profiling, but it turns out that all recent macOS release builds had shipped with active Tracy profiling instrumentation 🙀
From a user’s perspective, this was visible as increasing memory usage that basically resembled a memory leak.
Version 0.10.2 removes that instrumentation from macOS release builds, fixing the memory growth it caused #813.
