Compositor 1.9 is out!
Here’s a selection of what’s new in this release. As usual, the complete list of fixed bugs and new features can be found on Github.
Basic table editor #94
This release finally adds a graphical editor for tables. Click anywhere into a table to bring up the table inspector, which consists of three tabs.
The Table tab lets you change placement, caption, number of rows and columns, and grdlines:
The Row tab lets you modify the selected row (the row that contains the caret):
Likewise, the Column tab lets you modify the selected column:
Please note that this is just a first iteration of this feature. I want to collect some feature requests and feedback, and pack these into a next iteration. Let me know what you think!
Insert / Table #446
Of course the table editor needs a starting point, so there’s a new menu item to insert a sample table into the document:
- Deleting accented characters #440
- Wrong character may get deleted when deleting backwards #439
- Trailing blank in line is deleted #442
- Selecting word by double-clicking includes blank #450
Release 1.10 is scheduled for May 21, four weeks from today. The goals for this release are Dark mode support, performance improvements, and bugfixes.
There will also be a 1.9.1 bugfix update somewhere in between, probably May 7.
