Compositor 1.9 is out!
Here’s a selection of what’s new in this release. As usual, the complete list of fixed bugs and new features can be found on Github.
Improvements
Basic table editor #94
This release finally adds a graphical editor for tables. Click anywhere into a table to bring up the table inspector, which consists of three tabs.
The Table tab lets you change placement, caption, number of rows and columns, and grdlines:
The Row tab lets you modify the selected row (the row that contains the caret):
Likewise, the Column tab lets you modify the selected column:
Please note that this is just a first iteration of this feature. I want to collect some feature requests and feedback, and pack these into a next iteration. Let me know what you think!
Insert / Table #446
Of course the table editor needs a starting point, so there’s a new menu item to insert a sample table into the document:
Bugfixes
- Deleting accented characters #440
- Wrong character may get deleted when deleting backwards #439
- Trailing blank in line is deleted #442
- Selecting word by double-clicking includes blank #450
Next Up
Release 1.10 is scheduled for May 21, four weeks from today. The goals for this release are Dark mode support, performance improvements, and bugfixes.
There will also be a 1.9.1 bugfix update somewhere in between, probably May 7.
